How to Read Your Destiny Matrix Chart: The Exact Order to Follow
Your chart has a number on every position. Click any of them to read what it means. This guide shows you how to read destiny matrix chart positions in the right order, so it actually makes sense.

You generated your chart. Twenty-two numbers on an eight-pointed star. Every position is filled.
Here is the part most guides do not tell you: you can already read it. On your chart, every position has a number on it. Tap or click any number, and the reading for that position opens. The centre, the outer points, the relationship line, the karmic tail — each one has its own explanation, written for that exact number in that exact position.
So the chart is not a puzzle you have to decode. It is a set of doors. Each number is a door. You can open any of them and read what is behind it.
But here is the problem. If you click through the positions one by one, you get twenty-two separate readings and no thread connecting them. You will learn what arcana 16 means in the Relationship Zone. You will not learn why you should read the centre before the tail, or why the same number in two positions is not a coincidence.
That is what this guide does. It gives you the order. The chart gives you the content. The guide gives you the sequence, so the content lands in a way that actually makes sense.
The quick answer
IF YOU ONLY READ ONE THING
Step 1: Generate your chart. It fills in every position and every number is clickable.
Step 2: Read the centre first. Click it. Read what opens.
Step 3: Read the four outer points. Click each one. Read what opens.
Step 4: Read the three lines — love, money, karmic tail. Click each. Read what opens.
Step 5: Go back to the centre, and re-read every zone in relation to it.
If you do it in this order, the chart becomes a reading. If you click randomly, it becomes a dictionary. Same chart, two different experiences, and the only difference is the order.
How your chart is built to be read
Before the order, a quick word on what you are looking at when you generate the chart.
The chart is an octagram with 22 positions. Every position has a number from 1 to 22 on it, and every number maps to one of the Major Arcana. The calculation happens in your browser in about ten seconds. When it finishes, you see the full chart, and every number on it is a link.
Tap the centre — the reading for your central arcana opens. Tap the north-west point — the reading for your paternal line opens. Tap the karmic tail — the reading for your specific three-number combination opens.
That means you do not have to learn what all 22 arcana mean before you start. You do not have to look anything up in a separate tab. The reading for every position is one click away, and it is written for that position, not as a generic arcana definition.
So the real question is not “how do I read my chart?” It is “which position do I click first, and why?”
That is the rest of this guide.
The reading order: four passes
Do not click through the chart at random. Read it in four passes.
Pass 1 — The centre.
Pass 2 — The four outer points.
Pass 3 — The three lines: love, money, karmic tail.
Pass 4 — The zones, read against the centre.
Each pass answers a different kind of question. Pass 1 asks what you return to. Pass 2 asks what you inherited and how you meet the world. Pass 3 asks what you repeat. Pass 4 asks how those patterns interact.
That is the whole method. The clicks give you the content. The passes give you the meaning.
Pass 1: the centre
Click the centre position on your chart. Read what opens.
The centre is the sum of the four seed numbers, reduced to 1–22. It is the core energy of the chart, and every other position is read as a variation on it.
Read the centre first, and read it alone. Do not click any other number while you do. Ask one question: what do I return to when everything else falls apart?
If the centre is arcana 6, the Lovers, the core theme is choice, values, and the tension between what you want and what you are loyal to. That theme is the lens. Every other position will show that theme in a different area of life.
The reading that opens when you click the centre is not a personality description. It is a pattern you keep returning to. The difference matters, because a pattern can be worked with. A fixed trait cannot.
If you want the full breakdown of how to hold the centre while reading everything else, the Central Arcana page goes deeper than the chart pop-up does.
Pass 2: the four outer points
Click the four points around the outside of the chart. Each one opens its own reading.
These are the four inherited patterns:
North-west: day + month. The paternal line.
North-east: month + year. The maternal line.
South-east: year + centre seed. The money line.
South-west: centre seed + day. The relationship line.
The north-west and north-east are what came from each side of your family, including what you resist. The south-east and south-west are the patterns you recreate in money and in close relationships.
Click all four, read all four, then read them as a group. Ask: what did I inherit, and what do I keep repeating? The answer is usually uncomfortable, and that is the point.
The reading for each outer point tells you what that specific number means in that specific position. If you want the fuller reference for how the outer points shape how others see you, the Portrait Zone page covers it. For the south-west point specifically, the Relationship Zone page is the deeper dive.
Pass 3: the three lines
Click the three lines at the bottom and sides of the chart. Each opens its own reading, and each reads as a story, not as a single number.
The love line runs through the relationship point. Read it as a sequence. The first number is what you bring into a relationship. The middle is what you do when it gets hard. The last is what the pattern produces if you do not change it.
The money line runs through the south-east point. It describes how you create value and where money sticks or leaks. It is not a prediction of wealth. It is a description of your financial behaviour under pressure.
The karmic tail is the three numbers at the bottom of the chart, built from the individual digits of your birth year. Read it left to right: past-life theme, present pattern, resolution. It is not three separate lessons. It is one pattern in three stages.
The karmic tail is the part most people click first, and it is the part that explains why the same conflict keeps returning. But do not lead with it. Read it after the centre and the outer points, because the tail only makes sense once you know what it is a tail of. The full 26 combinations and what each one asks you to resolve are on the Karmic Tails page.
Pass 4: the zones, read against the centre
Now go back to the centre, and re-click every position you already opened.
This is the pass most people never reach, because they click each number once, read the pop-up, and stop. But the reading for a single position is not the whole message. The message is how that position sits against the centre.
A 16 in the Relationship Zone does not mean “disaster.” It means the Tower energy is active in how you relate. But what that Tower is dismantling depends on the centre. If the centre is 6, the Tower is breaking down a choice or a loyalty. If the centre is 14, the Tower is breaking down a pattern of over-giving. Same number, different reading.
This is why position matters as much as the arcana. The same arcana in the centre and in the karmic tail are not the same message. The Green Zone page covers the heart position arcana by arcana, so you can see how the same number shifts meaning depending on where it sits.
A worked example: 6 November 1990
Date: 6 November 1990. Every number below is derived from that date using subtract-22 reduction. If you enter this date into the calculator on our homepage, you will get this exact chart, and every number below will be clickable.
Step 1
The four seeds
Day: 6 · Month: 11 · Year: 1+9+9+0 = 19
Sum of the three: 6 + 11 + 19 = 36 − 22 = 14
Step 2
The centre
6 + 11 + 19 + 14 = 50 → 50 − 22 = 28 → 28 − 22 = 6
Centre: 6 · the Lovers
Step 3
Four outer points
North-west: 6+11 = 17 · the Star
North-east: 11+19 = 30−22 = 8 · Justice
South-east: 19+14 = 33−22 = 11 · Strength
South-west: 14+6 = 20 · Judgement
Step 4
The karmic tail
From digits of 1990 (1, 9, 9, 0):
1+9 = 10 · Wheel of Fortune
9+9 = 18 · the Moon
9+0 = 9 · the Hermit
Tail: 10-18-9
Now read it in order.
The centre is 6. The core theme is choice and loyalty. What this person returns to under pressure is a decision about what they value and who they are loyal to.
The paternal line is 17, the Star. The maternal line is 8, Justice. The inherited pattern from one side is hope and vision. From the other, it is fairness and consequence. Those two do not always agree. The money line is 11, Strength. Money is built through patient self-mastery, not force. The relationship line is 20, Judgement. Close relationships keep forcing a reckoning.
The karmic tail is 10-18-9. The past-life theme is cycles that could not be escaped. The present pattern is fear of what cannot be seen clearly. The resolution is solitude, reflection, and learning to sit with the question instead of forcing an answer.
On your own chart, every one of those numbers is a click away. The chart gives you the reading for each position. This example gives you the order to read them in. That is the whole method.
What to do if the chart still does not make sense
This is the part most guides skip. You clicked every number, read every pop-up, and the chart still feels like noise. Here is the troubleshooting sequence.
First, check the reduction method. If your centre does not match a hand calculation, your calculator is using a different rule. The standard method subtracts 22. Some calculators use digit-sum instead. If the numbers do not match, the problem is the method, not you. Check it by hand before you try to interpret anything. Our homepage shows the full arithmetic for a worked example so you can compare.
Second, read only the centre for one day. Do not click any other number. Click the centre once. Read it once. Write the number down. Notice where it shows up in your day. That is enough for day one. The chart is not a race, and the click-through does not disappear — it will be there tomorrow.
Third, write the numbers down in reading order. Centre. Four outer points. Three lines. Nine numbers, written in a column. The chart on screen is a diagram, and diagrams overwhelm. A list does not. Write the nine numbers down and read the list, not the diagram.
Fourth, look for repeats. If the same number appears in two positions, that is not a coincidence. It is the system pointing at an interaction. Note it, and read those two positions against each other.
Fifth, read the question, not the arcana definition. Every position on the chart has a question attached to it. The centre asks what you return to. The portrait asks what people see that you do not. The tail asks what keeps repeating. If the arcana meaning in the pop-up feels abstract, read the question instead, and answer it in one sentence about yourself. That sentence is the reading.
Sixth, if it still does not land, put it down. The chart is not a test. Some charts land immediately and some take months. The system is a mirror, and mirrors do not work on demand. Clicking through it once, getting nothing, and coming back in a week is a valid way to use it. The chart does not expire.
Can you read someone else’s chart?
Yes, and the process is the same. Enter their birth date, generate the chart, and click through the positions in the same four-pass order.
There is one condition worth stating plainly: use their birth date only if they have given it to you, or if you have a reasonable basis to use it. A chart is personal data. Reading someone’s chart without their knowledge is not a neutral act.
If you do read a chart for someone else, follow the same order. Start with the centre. Do not lead with the karmic tail, because the tail without the centre is frightening and meaningless. And say out loud what the chart cannot do: it cannot tell them what will happen. It can only put questions in front of them.
If you are reading for a partner or a family member, the relationship page and the parenting page cover how the same chart patterns show up in close relationships and in how you raise a child. The past-life page treats the tail as metaphor rather than memory, which is the safer frame when you are reading for someone else.
What the chart cannot tell you
It cannot tell you when anything will happen. It cannot tell you whether to take a job, leave a relationship, or move city. It cannot identify illness, and it must never be used for a medical, financial, or legal decision. It has no scientific standing.
What it does is put a fixed set of questions in a fixed order. The chart does not answer those questions. You do.
That is the difference between a reading and a fortune. A fortune tells you what will happen. A reading tells you what to look at.

Her charts are clickable on purpose: every position on the octagram opens its own reading, so you are never stuck staring at a number with no explanation. She writes the zone guides here and reads charts for clients. Her approach is plain: the chart is arithmetic, the interpretation is a set of questions, and the person reading it decides what the pattern means. More on the about page.
